Approach to Couselling
Dr. Morris’s holistic approach to treatment is informed by a number of traditions including cognitive-behavioural therapy, developmental psychopathology, and family systems. She values a collaborative relationship with her clients that focus on their areas of strength. She will work with you, your child, and your family to develop specific and achievable goals for counselling and work with you and your child to bring about the needed changes. Dr. Morris values lifelong learning and is very open to feedback.
What to Expect
Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes and include support, education, and therapeutic activities. The process is collaborative and therapeutic goals will be agreed upon together in the initial session. On-going monitoring of progress towards these goals will take place over the course of the treatment.
Fees
Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis for a 50-minute session. Your Extended Health Care or Employee Assistance Plan may cover much of the cost and I am happy to work with your plan to maximize your coverage. The fees for psychological services can be claimed as a medical expense and are tax deductible.
